Kachou Fuugetsu (花鳥風月) -Meaning ‘Flower, Bird, Wind, Moon’- is considered one of the most important concepts in Japanese aesthetics and thoughts about beauty and art. In essence, it’s all about, “experience the beauty of nature, and in doing so learn about yourself”. This philosophy was a big inspiration while photographing this project. With “Flower, Bird, Wind, Moon” I address the relationship between our physicality and the forms of nature.
